Big Wolfe's Oompah Band has always been very popular and has worked for nearly all the major companies since starting in 1979. Roy the bandleader started his Oompah band career in 1976 when he joined the Bavarian Stompers as there comedy Sousaphone (Tuba) player. Hundreds of people still remember the antics he used to get up to while in the Stompers and many still remark on a particular wacky night from years ago. However Roy has worked in many types of bands since starting including- Heavy Rock, Big Bands, Cowboy Band, Brass Band, Orchestra's and of course Oompah which is probably his out right favorite. Roy left the Bavarian Stompers and was offered the BandLeaders job at the giant Liverpool Hofbrauhaus Bierkeller and after a couple of years there he was made Band Leader of The Sheffield Hofbrauhaus. When the Bierkellers finally closed Roy did seven Summer Seasons in Blackpool followed by four seasons in Torquay and four in Newquay. In 1996 Roy invented and developed the Viking show which then toured the U.K. performing in all the Army and RAF messes plus a couple of Naval ones in Plymouth and Fas Lane Scotland. More recently the new (Adults) Pirate show is starting to get very popular and is now available for bookings in most parts of the U.K.....this is definitely not a children's show unless your kids are really well developed and drink pints of lager and chase..........well you get the idea! Oooops! The secrets out Big Wolfe is of course not your normal Oompah Band..........Yes' we are quite happy to be the Rowdiest, Daftest, Wildest, Liveliest and Naughtiest ....'IN YOUR FACE' … Oompah band in this country....In Edinburgh at the Fringe comedy festival out of five well known Oompah Bands Big Wolfe was voted top show and was the only band to be kept on and booked for the entire three week festival.
